Park Equine Hospital Externship Program

The Park Equine Hospital Externship Program provides veterinary medicine and veterinary technician students with the opportunity to gain real-world experience in a diverse and mid-sized practice, dedicated to providing top-notch equine medical care.  This program allows students to experience all fields of the equine medical field, and to be mentored by our dedicated and skilled team of doctors and medical support staff, including board-certified surgeons and sports medicine specialists.  It is designed to develop relationships with quality Preceptorship, Fellowship, Internship, Associate, and Veterinary Technician candidates and to provide a platform for students to apply their clinical knowledge in a practical setting.

Program Details and Expectations

  • This program is recommended for 3rd and 4th year veterinary medicine students, veterinary technician students, and recently graduated veterinarians.
  • Good horsemanship and basic veterinary skills are preferred.
  • Externship applications are accepted year-round.
  • Externs may stay a minimum of one week or a maximum of four weeks.
  • Onsite housing is not guaranteed and must be requested upon applying for the program.
  • Externs should make the most of their time by engaging in day-to-day procedures.
